Tax Credit Information for Commercial Products/Projects
Bosch Tankless Water Heater Products for Commercial Projects
A tax deduction of up to $1.80 per square foot is available to owners or designers of new or existing commercial buildings that save at least 50% of the heating and cooling energy of a building that meets ASHRAE Standard 90.1-2001. Partial deductions of up to $.60 per square foot can be taken for measures affecting the building's heating and cooling systems. These tax deductions are available for systems "placed in service" from January 1, 2006 through December 31, 2013.
Bosch makes several high-output tankless water heaters that may help you capture these tax deductions. In addition, our newest condensing tankless water heater series includes a model, the Therm C 1210 ES , capable of outputting 180°F water to satisfy commercial temperature requirements.
Notice 2006-52 provides a process that allows a taxpayer who owns a commercial building and installs property as part of the commercial building's interior lighting systems, heating, cooling, ventilation, and hot water systems, or building envelope to obtain a certification that the property satisfies the energy efficiency requirements of § 179D(c)(1) and (d) of the Internal Revenue Code. Notice 2006-52 also provides for a public list of software programs that may be used in calculating energy and power consumption for purposes of § 179D.
